At VivaTech, Technature and Wired Beauty showcased an 18-month collaboration aimed at accelerating cosmetic product development using biological data. The device measures indicators related to skin condition and its response to treatments in just minutes, utilizing a combination of proprietary sensors, electrochemistry, AI, and biological analysis. It can be used to select ingredients, develop formulas, validate performance, or personalize recommendations.



Cosmetic innovation is undergoing a profound transformation. Differentiation no longer relies solely on formulation, sensory experience, or storytelling; it increasingly depends on the ability to generate rapid, robust, and actionable biological evidence throughout the development process. The collaboration between Technature and Wired Beauty, presented at VivaTech, exemplifies this evolution.


Following their 18-month partnership, the two companies unveiled a device capable of measuring the effects of oxidative stress on the skin through *in vitro*, *ex vivo*, and *in vivo* testing. The system integrates proprietary sensors, electrochemistry, artificial intelligence, and biological analysis. It functions like a miniature dermatological laboratory, rapidly gathering various biological indicators regarding skin condition and its reaction to treatments. This speed is crucial in an industry where development cycles are rapidly shortening.


Oxidative stress is a key marker, as it is linked to skin aging, inflammation, pollution, and the degradation of specific biological structures. The ability to quickly measure how the skin responds to an ingredient, formula, or treatment protocol enables earlier decision-making—whether that means discarding a development path, adjusting a dosage, comparing two active ingredients, objectively verifying an effect, or personalizing a recommendation. AI plays a vital role by analyzing signals, structuring results, and generating interpretable data. Technature positions this system as a tool that spans every stage of the product lifecycle: ingredient selection, formula development, performance validation, customization, and even marketing support backed by evidence. The article also highlights two complementary innovations: D.I.V.A.S. Pearls, a customization solution using pearls that encapsulate active ingredients, textures, and colors; and the M.A.P.
